Reflections on home

Hi everyone!

I had a lovely impromptu vacation this past week. I was planning to take half the week to visit Virginia and ended up taking the whole week. It was just too much fun hanging out at The Lodge (as we call Mom and Dad's new house) with D. and his family. Except for the 7:00 AM wake-up call I received from Isaiah most mornings.

Sample conversation:

Setting - I'm laying in bed and hear the door open and the pitter-patter of little feet over to the side of the bed. I know Isaiah is looking at me so I open one eye as little as possible.

Isaiah: Good morning Riri!

Me: Good morning Buddy.

Isaiah: Are you awake Riri?

Me: I am now.

Isaiah: You need to get out of bed now.

Me: But it's early.

Isaiah: Daddy, come help Riri get out of bed.

There was lots of Clifford the Big Red Dog, baseball on the driveway, building blocks and many, many kisses.

I am very thankful that I have a job that allows me to take that time with my family. I feel like I'm ready to face the world again.
