But really, as a single gal (see below post on my state of singleness), I have had to learn how to do many things that are not in my repertoire of skills. In the past I have fixed running toilets, unclogged drains, hung shelves, put together huge pieces of furniture and installed a myriad of electronic geek things.
And today I expanded my plumbing knowledge. This evening I removed the plunger drain stopper from my tub and replaced the cover in one fell swoop.
My tub had not been draining properly and it was really bugging me. After much Drano and poking, I finally realized that my drain was remaining closed because the lever was not opening all the way.
In my head, I thought of a plan that could work and I was determined to fix it.
With Dad on speakerphone, I unscrewed the faceplate of the drain and pulled the plunger out, removed the plunger from the faceplate and replaced it back on the tub. And now my drain works good as new!
Go me! And thanks Dad for listening to me complain about how nasty it was. Because it was totally disgusting.
