I have permission to tell this story from the person it is about and because I was stuck in the middle of it (literally).
Suppose a boy and a girl start casually dating. They talk, they chat, they eat, they watch TV and see each other maybe once a week. Sometimes twice.
Suppose the boy doesn't call the girl for a whole week and a half.
Suppose the girl decides that he doesn't want to see her anymore.
Suppose the girl tells the boy this and asks him to at least tell her if he doesn't want to continue the casual relationship. Which is fair.
Suppose the boy says he actually likes her very much and still wants to see her. He supposedly understands that communication is necessary.
Suppose after this conversation, the boy doesn't call the girl for over three weeks.
Suppose the girl sees the boy at church and he never speaks to her or makes eye contact.
Now I enter the story.
Suppose the girl and her friend (that's me) have tickets to see a Broadway musical with a group from that church.
Suppose that the girl tells her friend that if they are sitting anywhere near him, the friend will have to be the buffer.
Suppose they arrive and not only find that the boy is not only sitting near them but actually right next to the friend!
What develops is an awkward evening as the girl tries to act normal, the boy acts stupid and the friend really is a buffer. And cracks a joke to the boy that he almost got a free lap dance when some lady fell on him. He totally didn't laugh.
Boys are stupid.

Well THAT boy sure is.
typical.
Me thinks the lad needs to be introduced to the appropriate social graces.

Oh no, I'm sooooo sorry. I feel bad about that. I had no idea. I saw boy and girl talking once but then I am pretty stupid on all boy girl situations. So I didn't think anything about it. :( Seriously, I wish my bulb was a little brighter in such areas. Crazy Boy! I'm glad you were there to be a good friend. I wish I had thought to tell you in advance, but I just had no idea.
