A soapbox moment

I don't talk politics on this blog. Politics are personal to everybody and nothing I can say will change any one person's opinion regarding any item.

BUT I am in Atlanta for a meeting and happen to have some time in the hotel room before I go. I'm watching a presidential press conference and as a journalist, I'm rather agitated. There are some heated exchanges between the President and the press going on and it's not necessary.

The press corps is doing their job. They ask questions. Whether you like the questions or not, all questions deserve an answer. In PR, I coach clients on how to handle every question and sarcasm is never an appropriate response.

I'm the first to admit that I'm as sarcastic as the next person but in an honest conversation, sarcasm doesn't make anyone look good.
