My summer reading list

OK so I promised some book reviews from my beach trip last week. I will admit that two books were a reread but the rest were all new and if nothing else, you can say that my taste is wide and varied.

Reread worth another look:
Same Kind of Different As Me - I really can't say enough about this book. D. wrote about here and Dad, Nanny and Papa all read it within the week. It's an amazing story that no one should miss.

New reads:
Finger Lickin' Fifteen - The latest in the Stephanie Plum series about a New Jersey bounty hunter with a love for doughnuts, fried chicken and a best friend, ex-hooker named Lula. Perfect summer reading. Mindless entertainment.

What I Did for Love - More summer fluff that I file under trashy romance. Which I would like to point out that my mother first introduced me to a few years ago.

Size 14 Is Not Fat Either - More summer fluff.

The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie - Fantastic new book! Set in England, this book follows the exploits of an 11-year-old chemist as she unravels who killed the man she found lying in her cucumber patch. I look forward to reading more about Flavia and seeing what other trouble she finds.

A Homemade Life: Stories and Recipes from My Kitchen Table - I loved this. Even though it made me hungry. Its true that the moments that you most remember in life are most closely associated with the food you had at that time. The author revisits everything from childhood innocence to first love to her first breakup to her father's death through her recipes that she includes at the end of every chapter.

and last but not least,

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Of course I had to prep for the movie. And even though I knew the ending, I still got misty-eyed all over again.
