On thankfulness

I've fallen into a rut lately. I complain. I moan. I groan. About everything.

And I really hate it. But we all know the longer you do something, the more it becomes habit and the harder it is to break.

So starting today, my new habit is thankfulness.

I have a notebook and every morning, I'm writing down what I am thankful for at that moment. Here are some examples on today's list:

  • Second, Third, Fourth Chances - more than I deserve
  • My job
  • Being able to work with people I enjoy
  • Air conditioning
  • Videos of Isaiah and Ezra
  • Unconditional love
  • Cell phones that make distances seem much smaller between family
  • My health
It's not deep or anything like that but it helps me put things in perspective. And at the end of my list, I'm writing one goal for the day. Something that is doable, tangible and meant to make me focus on something other than myself.

Today's Goal: To be a blessing to someone through my words and actions.

And the day has hardly started, but I feel better already. Imagine what days full of this will do!
