It's no secret to anyone that knows me how much I enjoy my television shows. From American Pickers to Masterpiece Mystery. From Bones to Modern Family. My television taste runs the full gamut of drama, comedy, reality and random.
My favorites always seem to be the crime dramas. NCIS, CSI (I'm sort of hooked on CSI: NY right now), Bones, Castle, White Collar. Love them. And the more I watch them, the more I realize that I could totally be an actor on one of these shows. Specifically, I could be one of the people that works in the lab.
Because all they do is squint at stuff. And on Bones, that's what the lab rats are called - squints.
I imagine being directed in a scene of CSI or Bones and it goes something like this:
Director: Now pick up the small piece of lint with the tweezers and make sure you hold it so the light catches it.
Me: Ok. Now what?
Director: Look intently at it. Like it's the most wondrous thing you've ever seen.
Me: Alrighty then.
Director: Squint harder.
That is some major acting chops right there. Except if I were on those shows I would be the person that actually turns the lights on in a house when looking for evidence. Because really? It's nighttime and they're using their flashlights? Puh-lease.
