The v-word

I'm really rather indifferent about Valentine's Day. I don't like it, I don't dislike it - it just is.

I don't enjoy all the flower deliveries at work due to my allergies. Lilies really can stink a place up.

I don't like having to wait forever to pay for my lunch at Whole Foods because there are 20 men in front of me waiting to pay for their two dozen red roses for $19.99 deal.

I really don't like all those jewelry commercials. "He went to Jared's!" "Every kiss begins with Kay." We're in a recession people! Save your money!

I do like the 75% off candy table the day after V-Day.

I love that one year for V-Day my grandmother sent me a "Grow-a-Date" inflatable man.

Another year, my cousin-in-law sent me a build-your-own-boyfriend kit.

I figure it's all about attitude, right? And maybe one year I'll actually get flowers (hopefully no lilies) and my opinion of all this may change.
