Wired up

I had a sleep test last night because my new asthma doctor thinks I may have sleep apnea. I'm fairly certain I don't have it but recently my brother has complained that I snore and I never feel very rested when I get up in the morning.

So fine. I went.

My appointment at the sleep disorder center started at 8:00 PM last night. I am informed by BJ, my nurse, that he likes to make sure everyone is in bed by 10:30 PM. A babysitter in scrubs - exactly what I needed.

So BJ comes in at 9:45 and began the wiring process. I counted as he put them on and there were four on my legs, two on my collarbone, one on each temple, one above each eye and 15 on my head. My head! I looked a bit like Medusa. You remember the lady with the snakes on her head?

It wasn't horrible but not entirely comfortable. I couldn't sleep on my stomach and the wires made for a tangling problem. Surprisingly I did sleep and at promptly 5:30 this morning BJ woke me up and sent me on my way. I had to come home and wash all the goo out of my hair but then I went back to bed for four hours.

And in case any one wonders I asked if I snored or not. I was informed I did not. So yes it may happen once in awhile but it is not a normal occurrence. So there.
