Thankful Thursday #8

I just left the most amazing production of Les Miserables that I've ever seen. It was beautifully moving and the voices, oh the voices! So strong and so much emotion.

I'm thankful for the gift of music tonight. I'm thankful that I'm able to make music but also enjoy it.

There is no feeling in the world like listening to a live performance of "Bring Him Home." Hearing every note, every emotion, every word.

Music is not just meant to fill up the silence. It's not meant to be a background noise in our lives.

Music is meant to move us; to make us feel something.

Music helps me feel more alive. From a Broadway performance to worship on Sunday mornings, music touches every level of my soul. And you know what, music even makes me feel alive when I'm singing along to "Midnight Train to Georgia" in my car. That brings me joy and you can't replace the feeling of being a Pip for three minutes.

I'm grateful for growing up in a home filled with music. For learning how to make music. For loving how music makes me feel.

For your listening enjoyment, "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables. Try not to get goosebumps. I dare you.

Superstar ... but he didn't get far. I will never hear "Midnight Train" and not have fond memories of our friendship. :)
