Facebook thinks I'm fat

I am usually highly amused at the ads that run on my Facebook sidebar. They are so inaccurate and poorly targeted, they're hilarious.

Sometimes it thinks I have gout.

Sometimes it thinks I am a married African-American woman.

Sometimes it thinks I should adopt a child.

From what my mom has been posting, a recipe for caramel gooey cake has been stalking her.

But this one! This one went too far.

Really Facebook? I don't need it from you.

I was really offended by this ad. And royally ticked off. Up yours Facebook.

Part of my job is knowing how Facebook ads work and targeting the right demographic. I have no clue what demographic this is. Women over 30 who post about food? And then I thought, what if Facebook looks at my photos and deems me overweight? How dare they?!

There is no rhyme or reason to this. The truth is Facebook may have a lot of data but that's numbers. It's not me or you or anybody else on there. It's just something they can sell.

And I may be curvy but I am definitely NOT a big, beautiful princess.

I'll take the gout ads any day.

Hilarious! I did enjoy this post. I've noticed that the ads are off as well. I especially enjoy the ads around social workers and me adopting a child. And if I see another ShoeDazzle ad, I'm going to scream. :)
