Flexible.
That is not a word that is used to describe me too often. I'm a planner by nature. I like lists. I like my calendar and knowing what's next.
I do love an impromptu dinner or friend-meet but you show me love when you accept my calendar invites. And stick to it.
Physically, I'm not flexible at all. There is not a loose-jointed part of my body. Every time I get a massage, my masseuse earns her money by getting all the tension out.
But I'm learning and practicing flexibility when I can. At work when things aren't going exactly the way I would like. When people can't commit to invites, back-out or reschedule at the last minute, I'm trying to let it go. Possibly through gritted teeth but I try.
I'm going to the gym more. I'm stretching. I'm doing some yoga. Perhaps by loosening the knots inside me, it will help let go of the other knots in my life.
So today I'm thankful for learning to be flexible. Even if it does include some aches, pains and bite guards.
