Listen to a story bout some dogs

I am very thankful that no matter what, my family keeps me completely grounded. Or as my daddy calls it, keeps me from getting "above my raisings."

On Saturday, Dad built a dog lot for Chip and Hershey over at the new house. It's back in the woods and lovely. I'm in the house watching TV and Mom says, why don't you go with your daddy to Tractor Supply? Sure, why not.

Except we didn't just go to Tractor Supply.

We went and bought a new dog house and then headed to the old house to get the other dog house. The plan WAS to get the new lot set up before we brought the dogs over.

Well Dad thought it was just plain ridiculous to make two trips and that we could fit the dogs, the houses, the food, the food pans and water bucket all in the back of the S10 truck. Which if you've seen PaJoe's old truck, you know how small it is.

I, of course, am incredulous. First matter of business is to get the dogs in their cage on the truck. Hershey jumps right in while Chip the minature horse cannot get his hind legs up. Crazy dog. Dad even tried to pick him up but couldn't. He looks at me as if to tell me to try and I said, "Are you crazy?"

Finally we have to put the tailgate at an angle so he can climb in. Next order of business was to get the old dog house in the truck. Dad decides to prop it on the side of the cage and use bungees to strap it down. On my word. We looked like the Clampetts.

And of course, about the time we pull out of the subdivision, Mom is pulling in and can't believe what she sees.

Papa wishes we had a movie of it but I for one am okay with not.

Sounds like the only thing missing was the rocking chair!
