Blessed are the flexible

For they shall bend and not break.

This saying is certainly getting some practice this week for my family.

My Papa is in the hospital and has been since Sunday night. As he would point out, this was not on his schedule this week. But his digestive system had other plans.

At this point, we're not entirely sure what the next day brings but that's okay. He's doing well and that's all that matters. THE END.

But not really. It is a holiday after all.

We usually eat Thanksgiving dinner at Nanny and Papa's on Thursday evening and this plan is currently the one most likely to change. Our contingency plan is to have dinner on Saturday night since all of us (grandkids and great-grandkids) will still be here.

I started thinking that Thanksgiving is just a day. A day that the entire United States usually has off but a day just the same. I'm thankful every day. And whether I eat my Nanny's dressing on Thursday night or Saturday night doesn't really matter to me. I only care that my family is healthy and we're together. Enjoying each other's company.

So we're flexible. But we're together. And that's all that matters.
