I can see clearly now

If you're friends with me on Facebook, you've seen me fretting about my eye doctor appointment that I had today. D. couldn't understand why I was so freaked out but it's simple. I just can't handle people being up near my face or poking around my eyes. Call it a defense mechanism but it just completely freaks me out.

But I sucked it up and went today because now vision is included in my insurance plan. And as much as I hate to admit it, I'm getting older so I probably need to start getting checked out.

I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't faint or jerk away in the middle of the exam. I have lovely corneas and a beautiful optic nerve. I also have the eyes of a 20 year old which, that's pretty cool even if nothing else on me is like a 20 year old.

No prescription needed but reading glasses suggested for the hours I sit at my computer and the nights I sit up reading.

The worst part? Dilating the eyes. I couldn't read for four hours! And I looked like I was high on something. Creepy.

All is well for two more years. And then I'll probably freak out all over again.
