Gas Gouging 101

This morning, my car load packed up and headed out after a very nice family-togetherness weekend up in the north Georgia mountains. I had about a quarter of a tank of gas left but I figured that I would fill up before we got too far along. We passed at least eight stations that were empty. By the time we found one with gas, I really needed to get some.

And the price? That would be $4.25 a gallon and I could only get $20 worth. I couldn't believe it. How ridiculous was that? I got less than five gallons of gas which thankfully put me about 100 miles down the road until I could get gas at a more reasonable price of $3.57.

First of all, we have no gas shortage in Birmingham. We're doing okay. And second, how can they get away with that? Ridiculous. It really makes me mad when people take advantage of situations.
