This conversation happened a week ago but I'm just now getting it down for posterity. I'm impressed with two things: my nephew's line of questioning and my brother's quick thinking.
D.: Isaiah asked what you do the other day.
Me: Really? Why? And what did you say?
D.: He wants me to stay home so I explained to him why I work. And he knows what my job is. We've talked about that. So then he asked, "What does Riri do?"
Me: And?
D.: I told him you tell people about stuff.
Me: Accurate.
D.: And then Isaiah asked if you tell people about Jesus. I said, do you remember those little heart shaped cakes we had at Riri's house? The chocolate ones? He said, yeah! I said, she tells people about those.
Me: And now he will forever think I only tell people about snack cakes.
From the mouths of babes.
