Cracker Barrel: A love story

My dad loves Cracker Barrel. You can guarantee if we're on a road trip, there will be at least one Cracker Barrel stop during the visit.

But this post is not about my dad and his love of the Barrel.

It's a story about a guy and a girl and their visit to Cracker Barrel the morning after their wedding.

How do I know this? How can I be so sure you may ask.

First tip off, they were wearing matching t-shirts with "Bride" and "Groom" embroidered on them.

Second, when they gave their name to the wait list, the little gal got all excited because "it was her first time to use that last name!"

Third, they sat near us and kept taking phone pictures of their ringed hands intertwined next to the Cracker Barrel peg board game and the oil lamp on the table.

Fourth, their rings were really shiny. Not dulled by daily drudgery and the reality of marriage.

I am not judging. Well maybe judging a little but really, I have no issue if you would like to go to Cracker Barrel after your wedding night but I wouldn't proclaim it to the world. But they were young and in love and obviously hungry.

As Miranda said on my Facebook status, "Nothing says everlasting love quite like sharing some chicken and dumplings post nuptial hootenanny."

Can I get an amen?
