You can keep your reality

I have enough of my own.

Whenever anyone asks if I watch reality television, this is always my answer. I don't watch TV for reality. I watch TV for escapism.

You can keep all your bad girls, Kardashians, pageant moms, Duggars, swamp people, bachelors, bachelorettes and undercover bosses.

Give me good old procedurals and comedy any day. And if I'm going to watch anything remotely reality it will only be on PBS. Y'all know I love me some American Experience and Antiques Roadshow.

So because I know you care, here's my breakdown of the best and the worst of this past TV season:

Best New Show - Once Upon a Time
I beg of you, catch up with this show online this summer. I had no clue I would care so much about fairy tales ever again.

Best Returning Show - CSI
I have always loved CSI but it had lagged the past few years since Grissom left. I was curious when they added Ted Danson but honestly, loved him! Props for making some changes to keep it interesting. And not just in the "how gross can we make the episode this week?"

Worst New Show - Whitney
Just don't ask. It's that bad.

Show That Needs to Be Put Out of It's Misery - Grey's Anatomy
I broke up with Grey's awhile back but still keep up with story lines via the social networks. So. Much. Melodrama. Just end it already. (Same with Private Practice.)

Show That Makes Me Want to Live in a Manor House - Downton Abbey
I cannot sing the praises of this one enough. And no Edd, it's not Downtown Abbey. Downton. Downton Abbey. Upstairs downstairs, beautiful costumes, longing gazes. Perfection.

Best Network for TV - USA
Of all the heavy hitters, I watch the most shows on USA. Fairly Legal, White Collar, Burn Notice, Necessary Roughness, Suits, Covert Affairs, NCIS reruns. I live on that station.

TV is my escape. Books are my escape. Everybody needs one. I have two. What's yours?
