Thankful Thursday #39

I have a very smart sister-in-law. And it's about to be official for the whole world to know.

Correna Catlett Merricks will receive her doctorate at Ole Miss this weekend and I, for one, couldn't be prouder.

Throughout the process of earning her doctorate, she has had amazing amounts of classes to attend, papers to write and to grade, books to read, research to do and a dissertation to write and defend.  I am a 34-year-old single gal and the thought of doing all that makes me feel ill.

What's amazing is that Corrie did all this while raising to two wonderful, intelligent, highly-active boys, providing a beautiful home for her family and supporting D. in his ministry calling at Wesley in Oxford and now in Macon.

Do people realize how amazing this is?

Today I'm thankful for Corrie and her part in our family.  She's added smarts, humor, a servant heart and amazing baking skills to our fold and I am so thankful that she is a part of my life. And I'm mostly thankful that I don't think of her as my in-law. But as my friend and my sister.

Congrats Corrie! Let's celebrate!
