Hacking Up a Lung

I have this hideous cough today. It hurts everytime I breathe. I've had the cough at least a week but it wasn't bad and I only coughed when I laid down at night. Now it doesn't matter.

So I'm home today trying to get rid of it. I'm hoping a day of sleeping with a big bottle of Robitussin will help. If anyone else has any recommendations, let me know.

UPDATE: I'm headed to the doctor. Hopefully I don't have something I can't pronounce.

DIAGNOSIS: Walking pneumonia. Antibiotics and fluids - that's it. I really don't feel that bad.

I have/had the exact same thing. It started off as a light, non-annoying head cold, then evolved into a liquid-filled lungs nightmare. It's a persistent bugger too. I started to hit the worst of it last Tuesday and just now feel like I'm finally coming down the back side of it (have been antibiotics for over 5 days now.) Good luck. And remember that strawberry-flavored cough drops are far and away the best.

Ohhh, I had that last year. I was quarantined by my Doctor for 3 days after a stern lecture for not coming to see him sooner. I didn't feel that bad either. I only went to see him because I had a trip planned the next week and wanted to be sure I was not coming down with something harsh. My advice is this... I don't care what they (doc or pharmacist) tells you... unless you are about to die from a sore throat... DO NOT TAKE anything labeled as miracle mouthwash. Feel better soon.
