Dad is currently in session in Richmond right now and when I can, I like to see how he's doing. That's right. The House of Delegates has a live video stream that I sometimes tune into during my lunch break.
Most of the time there is a lot of pontificating and gesturing and I only see the back of Dad's head. But today, there was a pause in the proceedings and the delegates were chatting with each other. So I texted Dad.
Me Text: Hi. I'm watching. It's boring.
I see Dad check his phone and start laughing. Then he leans over to his seatmate and shows it to him.
Me Text: I saw you show it to him.
Then Dad turns around and waves at the camera. Really discreetly of course.
Me Text: I'm waving back!
Dad Text: I know you are. Keep watching.
So, all that to say, here's to technology! Allowing me and Dad to have a moment in the middle of a hectic day.
