This post is specifically for Mom and Dad but some of you might like it too. I stumbled on to some music from Rumer, a British export and probably as close to Karen Carpenter as you'll ever hear nowadays.
I enjoy a singer that actually sings. I like melodies and phrases and all the lovely things that make listening to music enjoyable.
(Don't get me wrong - I like the other stuff too. I am nothing if not eclectic in my tastes.)
BUT every year at Christmas, Mom and Dad both mention how there will never be a singer like Karen Carpenter. It never fails. After the umpteenth million hearing of "Merry Christmas Darling," someone says it.
So for them, here's your 21st century Karen. I think you'll like it.
